June Bug Dress Sew Along with Craftiness Is Not Optional

"Blog Land" is so full with inspiration and great ideas that there just isn't time in the world to do everything.  Luckily we found the brilliant blog "Craftiness Is Not Optional" and were so pleased to find a plethora of projects that are both super-cute and have pretty quick turn-around time.  I finally got around to making this adorable dress from the blog called The June Bug Dress.  The blog's owner Jess is an amazing machine of awesome, she cranks out so many cute projects and her kid's clothes are particularly inspiring!  We couldn't pass up this cutie!

Sophie loves watering plants, so please excuse the water droplets all over the dress!

My 2 year old, Sophia modeled this June Bug Dress made with Jay-Cyn's Woodland Friends in Shroom from the Storyboek line.  Although this print would be equally cute in the Coral color or even in the Woodcut Floral.

Woodcut Floral

I made fabric covered buttons from the Jay-Cyn Woodcut Floral also from the Storyboek line.  I just loved how the buttons came out!

The only real change (or lack thereof), that I made to the dress is I left out the elastic in the sleeves.  I decided to let the sleeves have high caps and I thought keeping them loose around the arm would make the dress more freeing for Sophie.  The dress really is cute either way though.

Sophie took this modeling business in her own direction and decided she needed the Radio Flyer Wagon and a fake flower for her little photo shoot.

Be sure to check out Craftiness Is Not Optional for lots of inspiration and to browse fabricworm.com for lots of cute fabric options including the Storyboek line we used for this dress!

Yours in Fabulous Fabric,
Fabricworm Girl Andrea (and Sophie)

Thanks Everybody! I love the way it came out too! Jess, the flipped front was actually an accident, but I thought it still looked cute that way, so I figured I'd just leave it. :)
