My favorite memory is jumping in the big pile of leaves we created in the fall. We had huge maple tress in our front yard and after the beautiful fall colors had come to a close the leaves began to fall. My dad paid us 5 cents to rake the front yard.We would rake up a big pile of leaves and dad would give us a nickle to go to the penny candy store.. Then we would jump in the pile scattering it to the far corners of the yard...rake it...collect our 5 cents again..Dad usually allowed us to "get away" with this 3 or 4 time before he took the pile to the backyard compost. Memories are such fun...Aneela's fabrics always spark memories for me. These would be a wonderful addition to my "to do" pile, making children's clothes for my grandchildren so they can begin their memories of "when mema mad me a little......"

My daughter is all into collecting acorns and pinecones right now and it reminds me of when I was 6 or 7 and collected acorns and stored them in a square plastic container. I put them upstairs in our playhouse in the woods. I remember coming back to the acorns after being away for a couple days and out of the acorns had hatched -- disgusting squirmy worms! My acorn collection ruined! But nevertheless, a favorite memory from fall.

My favorite childhood memory was when my sister was born. I was 8 and was so excited to finally be having a sibling. She passed away nearly 8 years ago at the age of 20 and I miss her dearly.

Favourite childhood memory is probably getting "storm-stayed" on our farm during blizards. Sleeping on the kitchen floor in sleeping bags in front of the opened propane oven. Melting snow for the cattle to drink. Playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles by candlelight at the kitchen table and making little sculptures from the candle wax. And kneeling on the sofa watching out the window at all the swirling snow and Dad disappearing into the whiteness on his way to the barn ... a guide rope running at his side in case the visibility got too bad. And then seeing him reappear through the snow and marveling at how warm his hands still were.

One of my favourite childhood memorys is: when my family was having money problems and we almost lost our home.Someone left a few boxes at our front door with food, clothing and cash that helped safe our house. I'm so thankful to this person who to this day we don't know who it was. I learned early to to always give and share.
My favorite memory would have to be spending time with my dad. Whether it was helping out with wood working projects, hunting, cutting firewood, practicing basketball, discussing books, mowing the lawn, driving the tractor or just about anything else (except mucking out the barn). He is always so busy, so any time with him is precious.

My favorite childhood memory was going camping with my family. One year while camping at a nice campground, the owner told my father that he did not want life jackets in the pool that he prefered the adults stayed with their children that could not swim. I was around 5 years old and really wanted to swim, my sister took pity on me and taught me how to swim at that campground. It was GREAT!

Favorite childhood memory, you are asking me to go way back in time, maybe even "back in the day". I think being with my Dad's family in late summer, very early fall for a huge family reunion. We would have ball games, sack races, tug of wars, fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and OMGosh so much more food. We kids just ran wild on the farm and nobody was too concerned about us, we were always in groups and never alone. I would love to have one more day of that in my life.
