I'm definitely a "wing it" kind of sewer. Not against patterns, but I usually just don't ever use them. Thanks for the chance at that pretty stash!

Mostly I make up my own, because I have a hard time following directions.

I use patterns for clothes, and wing it for everything else.

If I am making a quilt I generally just make it up as I go, but if I am making clothes I have to use a pattern. I hope to get better at just winging it on sewing clothing because I have a hard time finding patterns I like.

I use a mixture. Usually at least base it off of patterns.

Vroomans' Quilts saidā€¦
I know a lot of the standard blocks and settings - so kind of 'wing' quilt designs with what I know - I don't like patterns as you end up with a quilt maybe 300 other people have.

Shannan saidā€¦
for the most part...pattern or tutorial girl with my own tweaks. thanks for the chance
Sallie saidā€¦
I do both - follow patterns for specific blocks, but I do my own thing for putting them together into a completed quilt. Thanks for the giveaway! I love solids!
Andrea saidā€¦
What an awesome giveaway! I MUCH prefer to use patterns than make it up as I go - maybe as I gain experience I'll try making up my own design; but for now, I'm a pattern girl all the way!

Both! I'm still new enough at sewing that patterns are a great help! But I also love the innovation of winging it. Love Moda!
I tend to be a pattern follower, but I've done a few things without a pattern.
tracy_a saidā€¦
to start, patterns please (but not templates!) - and let me know how to wing it after I get the hang of it :) beautiful fabric!
memmens saidā€¦
Oh wow, I never buy solids and I know I should.

Sunnybec saidā€¦
