So hard to pick just one favourite story, but I loved Astrid Lindgren's books, especially The Children of Noisy Village.

I really enjoyed a book called "Miss Hickory", by Carolyn Sherwin Bailey. It was published in 1946 when I was two years old. I probably read it when I was seven. Yep, I'm an antique!

One of my very favorites was Betsy and the Big Snow by Carolyn Haywood. (I think that was the author's name)

I read this in first grade. It was one of my favorite stories because it was the first time I actually formed a "mind movie" based on what I was reading! I remember thinking that was the coolest thing and being so excited about it! (That was way before we started teaching these things in school.) It was what helped seal the deal as far as falling in love with reading.

Of course, reading the book as an adult--I was not as impressed...but I still hold a fondness for it in my heart.
