Seeing this fabric reminded me of "Lon Po Po" - the Chinese fairy tale, similar to Little Red Riding Hood, that my aunt used to read to my siblings and me.

Hmmm, do I have a favorite childhood story? Let's see, there was the time I was accidentally left behind at a rest stop on a road trip. No, that wouldn't be it.
Ok, I guess it would be the Christmas that I got my first guitar. I had begged for one for months. Woke up Christmas morning, and there was a guitar box under the tree with my name on it. I opened it up and... there was a cheap little plastic ukelele in it. My parents had hidden the real guitar behind the sofa.

I am from Norway so you may not know mine, but it is: "Alle vi barna i bakkebygrenda" by Astrid Lindgren, the swedish writer. I think maybe its known as "The six Bullerby Children" or "The children of noisy village". It is about six kids (and a baby) from a little village in Sweden, and all the things that they would come up with. Beautifull books, my mom jused to read them for me on my bedside, and I cant wait for my little daughter to be old enough for me to do the same for here :)

Classic fairy tales and Isaac Bashevis Singer's collection of short stories for children. Those fantastical stories of demons and ghosts clashing with simple village lives have stayed with me.
