The very first thing I ever sewed under the watchful eye of my dear Granny was a simple purse...and I still love making them today, because variety and styles are so vast for something so basic. Decoration and embellishments are used to create individuality and I try to make them to suit the child, including something unique and personal for each one. It could be an embroidery, applique, a fabric depicting an interest, monogram or even colours, combinations of fabrics, prints, solids... the variety is endless and they are very satisfying and fun to do and (I hope) to use.

With two daughters, this is a tough question! I love to make them dresses and skirts, but my favourite is costumes. Even a simple red cape with a hood and ribbons to tie up under their chins. The cape turns my little girl into Red Riding Hood, and her imagination does the rest!
