«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 366 of 366Sewing is currently a hobby, but, I hope to make it a lifestyle. I finally have a girl (after three boys) and sewing for her makes us both happy... ruffles, ribbons and bows, I can't get enough.
I love to sew because of all the pretty colours and fabrics, so that I can surround myself with pretty things, for that sense of achievement you get when you finally finish a project.
oh and I'm on the mailing list
i enjoy crafting, which for me includes sewing.

In my job I work on social justice issues. So when I come home, I love to relax with a very tangible project. Sewing is my creative outlet.

Sewing keeps me sane because I can make things which actually get finished and are tangible (unlike the book I'm working on).

Sewing is just one of those things I have to do, like gardening and knitting, I just get all fretful and restless if I don't have something on the go.

Sewing is a hobby, that I do because I like to make things, all sorts of things. It's a stress reliever. However, sometimes my stacks of fabric make me feel guilty for not taking them out to make things with them!

It's a great stress reliever and a way to make family and friends feel special. :)
Sewing is such a part of me! I'd be lost without the creative and relaxing outlet it provides along with the satisfaction and opportunity to help others with a craft I love.
Thanks for the chance! LOVE Monaluna!!! And this line is wonderful!!!
I'm on your mailing list too!
I recently took up sewing again. We are waiting on the arrival of our first baby, due in October, and about a month and a half ago I just had the urge to sew for the little guy (it's the "nesting" I've heard so much about!). I started with a baby quilt...and now have project after project piled onto each other. But I am "sew" happy to be able to create and make things for our little man!!
I think sewing makes me happy because I get to cut into a perfectly good piece of material and (hopefully) turn it into something even more special.
It's a hobby for me. I just like the idea that I can take some fabric, thread, and some time, and make something out of it!
I also signed up for the newsletter!
It's my creative outlet, my chance to escape from the regular drill of work and housework. And it just makes me 'sew' happy.
Sewing allows my soul to sing! I am creating something I think is beautiful and can give as gifts to others!
Sewing makes me sew happy because it's a me time. Just me and my sewing machine. It helps too that I make some money off the items I sew.
i am obsessed with sewing because it helps me not obsess about trivial things and it keeps both my creative and logical brains happy!

Sewing makes me happy because I love to make things for my family. It's so fulfilling to see my daughter curled up sleeping under a quilt her mom made for her:)
What a lovely giveaway. I sew to relax and would love to relax sewing with this giveaway fabric. Thanks for the opportunity to win
I am loving your site.
Sewing makes me sew happy, especially when things turn out the way they are supposed to. (I also 'learned' to 'cuss' while using a sewing machine... LOL) My husband tells me he likes to watch me sew; that he can see such a look of 'happy' on my face. :o)
Sewing is not just a stress reliever, it's a creative outlet and a sense of accomplishment and well being.

Well, sewing makes me "sew" happy because it's my hobby and plus I can sew stuff for my little one. It's both relaxing and practical. I love it!
I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder a few years ago. It rendered me nearly paralyzed. A combo of therapy and medication helped get me back up and moving, working and even creating things. I've since been able to keep up sewing as a major anxiety reliever and quit the medications over a year and a half ago.
Sewing, fabrics, textures, creating things with my hands makes me SEW happy and has helped me lead a fulfilled and much less anxious life. My therapist and doctor couldn't be more pleased with the results and neither could my friends and family members who receive gifts handmade by me, with love.

Hi,
I'm so glad to have found this site! I will be a follower. Yippee!
I get "sew" happy because I love being able to give away something that I've created and have it appreciated! It is so nice to see somebody using what you made.
I sew for several reasons- I enjoy & like being a part of making chrity quilts. It must be a stress reliever b/c I get grumpy if I haven't been able to get to my sewing room (I'm grumpy right now)-
The mere fact that it is an outlet for exercising some creativity also works wonders for my overall well being.
It is definitely a hobby for me and I fit it into my free time because it makes me feel accomplished and creative. Hand sewing is very relaxing for me too.
I know grades aren't everything, but they always felt like a validation of my knowledge. Now that I'm no longer in school, I don't ever know if what I'm doing is correct, there's nothing that can put a label on what I do. With sewing, I have deliverables. When I finish a project I feel so accomplished, and the compliments I receive are even better validation than any grade!
It is my creative outlet. I can't sing, or paint, or dance (well!) but I can create beautiful things from fabric.

I'm a professional potter, but I sew as a hobby. My job is so creative and exhausting, I like to follow someone else's directions, but still make something I like!
I sew as I can be creative and release stress and at the finish I have something useful to show for my time :).
Cheers,
Robyn

I love the creative part. Though I might use a pattern from someone else, I tend to tweek it along the way. Playing with the colors and fabric to get just the look I want is the best part.

I sew to see what comes out of my fabric. sometimes it amazes me that you buy fabric in a whole piece, cut it up and turn it into something completely awesome. Sewing is where I find peace, think and make decisions. My machine listens and never argues with me. :)
